They can be really fun and they can even be the focal point of a garment. In this class Nicki LaFoille demonstrates how to insert zippers in several different ways: the lapped zipper, which is great in the side seam for a professional, the concealed zipper and the exposed zipper.

Take your sewing to the next level by adding professional seam finishes to your projects. Once you know the advantages of finishing seams, you’ll make finishing seams a priority. It only takes a little extra time and effort, and the results are amazing! You’ll discover three key reasons for adding a finish, and more importantly, when and when not to finish a seam.

Sewing a Perfect Fitted Skirt class will teach you all the steps you need to make a skirt in multiple silhouettes and fit it PERFECTLY to your body!
In this class, Aurora Sisneros will show you how to properly measure yourself, as this is the KEY to a great fit! Once we have our measurements, we can build a pattern that can be used over and over again based on very simple formulas with our measurements plugged in.

Getting the look of a designer handbag doesn’t have to cost a lot of money when you make your own. In this class you will learn how to make a handbag with two large zipper pocket sides and a roomy middle compartment. Instructor Ashley Hough will take you step-by-step through construction of the handbag; showing how to first practice with a light weight cotton material. You will learn how to sew the purse as well as how important it is to think ahead when it comes to construction technique in order to know when to incorporate finishing touches like top stitching.

Making Friends with Your Serger

Have you recently bought a serger and aren’t sure where to start? Or perhaps you’ve owned one for a while, and it’s sitting in the box because you don’t remember how to use it? In either case, this class is what you need to be serging like a pro in no time. Making Friends with Your Serger is a boot camp to get you feeling comfortable with your serger in the shortest time possible. Unlike other classes, your instructor ZJ Humbach focuses on just the basics rather than overwhelming you with every possible thing a serger can do.
